dc.description.abstractThe technical possibilities of extra-literary reality have developed rapidly in recent years – today we find ourselves in the age of surveillance capitalism. The literary narratives of the last ten years reflect the changing figures of thought; away from George Orwell’s 'Big Brother' towards 'Big Other.' The article provides an overview of contemporary German-language surveillance narratives and highlights analogies and differences to the classic dystopia of the 20th century.
