| dc.description.abstract | Dieser Beitrag untersucht aktuelle Veränderungen in der zivilen Kultur anhand von Initiativen, die im Bereich der Stadtentwicklung und Beschäftigungsförderung zum Teil schon seit den 1970er Jahren aktiv sind. Im Zuge diverser sozialpolitischer Reformen der letzten beiden Dekaden wurden solche Initiativen zunehmend in neue sozial- und arbeitsmarktpolitische Programme involviert, wodurch sich die Dynamik des Dritten Sektors grundlegend verändert hat. Auf der Basis der Ergebnisse eines vergleichenden Forschungsprojekts, das die Situation solcher lokal agierender freier Träger exemplarisch in einer deutschen und US-amerikanischen Metropole untersucht hat, präsentiert dieser Beitrag zentrale Probleme und Potentiale von Drittsektor- bzw. Nonprofit-Organisationen in diesem Politikfeld. | |
| dc.description.abstract | This chapter examines current changes in civic culture on the basis of initiatives working in the fields of urban development and employment promotion, some of which have been active since the 1970s. In the course of various social-political reforms during the last two decades, such initiatives have become more and more involved in new social and employment policies, and the dynamics of the third sector have changed fundamentally as a result. Based on the results of a comparative research project investigating the situation of such locally active, independent agencies in a German and a US American metropolis, this essay presents key problems and potentials of third sector or nonprofit organisations within this political field. | |
