| dc.description.abstract | Ackroyds kleiner Roman/Dialog gehört in eine Geschichte der Aufklärung. Sein Trick der Verfremdung besteht in der Rekonstruktion des Weltbildes unserer Epoche von einem zukünftigen Standpunkt aus (ca. 3500 n. Chr.). Die irreführenden Rekonstruktionen, die der Philosoph Plato vornimmt, zeigen unsere eigenen Blindheiten in unseren Rekonstruktionen anderer Epochen und Kulturen. Allerdings enthalten Platos Spekulationen über unsere Zeit auch satirische und treffgenaue Analysen. Die verzerrte Optik vergrößert Teile unseres Weltbildes und unserer Selbstverständlichkeiten oder macht sie erst sichtbar. Diese Kunst der Verzerrung zeigt etwa, dass unsere Religion etwas mit unserem Gebrauch von Zeit und Information zu tun haben. Für einen selbstverständlich religiös eingestellten Menschen muss auch unser Materialismus und Positivismus Ausdruck einer Religion sein. Im Vortrag soll gezeigt werden, dass die Science Fiction als Zukunftsentwurf unser eigenes Verständnis von Religion verändern kann. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Ackroyd's short novel/dialogic sequence belongs to a history o f enlightenment H e produces a sense of alienation by reconstructing our world picture from a future perspective (3,500 A. D.). The future philosopher's reconstructions distort the past and thereby illustrate our own futile endeavours to reconstruct lost ages and cultures. At the same time, Plato's speculations contain superbly satirical and poignant analyses o f our time. By optical distortions, it seemsy certain elements o f our world picture which we take for granted become visible. Our religiony theny seems to be bound up with our concept of time and information. To a religious person even our materialism and positivism are bound to appear as the expression o f some kind of religion. In this paper I wish to show that SF as a projection into the future may have an impact on our own understanding of religion. | |
